All-embracing environmental protectionThe REIME NORIS GmbH is aware of the challenges of all-embracing, sustainable protection for the environment.
We use our economical, ecological and social competence to avoid possible harmful effects of our actions for people and the environment.
We do not regard economy and ecology as complete opposites. In fact protecting the environment is an integral part of all our corporate decisions. With this in mind we consider the possible environmental relevance of products and process throughout their entire product life cycle.
Our actions to ensure a green design start with the use of raw materials and continue during the product development, production and product usage phases, including waste disposal and recycling.
You can see that all-embracing environmental protection is not just a watchword for us but is actively pursued.
EU Act No. 1907/2006 (REACH)
Being a leading manufacturer of threading tools, we have been dealing for quite some time with the EU prescriptions concerning registration, evaluation and authorisation of chemicals (REACH), which were enforced on June 1st, 2007.
The REACH schedule set the 30th of November 2008 as deadline of the preparatory phase. The time frame for the subsequent registration depends on the volume of production and the potential danger of the respective substances.
In order to exchange information we have established a team in our company, which is engaged in the implementation of the REACH requirements demanded from us and also participates in informational meetings of professional bodies.
With REIME NORIS being a so-called "downstream user" in the terms of REACH, we are reliant on the statements of our suppliers in order to schedule our future proceedings.
A vital part of this planning is a close contact to our suppliers in order to check the availability of crude materials according to REACH. For our products we use well-known substances commercially available. As a consequence, we assume that our suppliers have pre-registered these substances for our employment and will register them subsequently, unless they have already been registered.
Notwithstanding, we realize the interest of our customers in receiving a confirmation for the future availability of proven products. Therefore we are cooperating with our suppliers so as to continue offering well-proven products of high standards to our customers.
We, REIME NORIS take the obligations and regulations imposed by REACH seriously and we tackle the ramifications of REACH on the European industry with the collaboration of our customers and suppliers, hence we are performing our duties along the supply chain, as a matter of course.
Explanatory note concerning article 33 of EU act No. 1907/2006 (REACH)
The so-called candidate list according to article 59 (1, 10) of the EU act Nr. 1907/2006 (REACH) was first published on October 28th, 2008 (cf. internet address of the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) http://echa.europa.eu/). The latest update of the candidate list was released May 30th, 2013.
Currently, we have no information from our suppliers that would imply that substances of this candidate list can be found in our products with a mass percentage exceeding 0.1. According to EU act Nr. 1907/2006 (REACH) our suppliers are obliged to inform us at the latest at the time of delivery of the substances needed for the production in case these substances contain a mass percentage exceeding 0.1.
The candidate list will be updated regularly and we ensure that we pursue this updating thoroughly and, if necessary, react respectively. Having consulted two independent and professional REACH bodies, it is unlikely to presume our products to contain substances of the candidate list mentioned.
In such an improbable case we will forthwith provide any information at hand required for a safe application of the product according to article 33 of the EU act Nr. 1907/2006 (REACH), at any rate we will at least name the substance concerned.
